What’s with the uppercase-fetish?
This is actually something that has been striking me with perplexity for quite a while now, although it has nothing to do with Flash, Flex, or Actionscript.
So this is the issue, what is up with the “Hey, Let’s Make Every First Letter In A Word An Uppercase” attitude? Now of course I can see the use for applying this to titles like bandnames, or perhaps even songtitles for that matter, seeing they may be used in phrases. But what’s the use of giving your headers all uppercase first letters like FeedBurner seems to be doing?
This may seem like a minor matter, but in days of not using absolute fontsize values on webpages for the sake of readability, surely some web usability guru will have come across the uselessness of this phenomenon before?
Seeing I have yet to read an existent article on this subject, I’m taking this opportunity to state that web text writers should collectively outlaw this weird twitch in present-day web content, enough is enough.
Of course, that is, provided that there is nobody who can state a good reason for this first letter case insanity (FLCI)..

This is so true… found this post seaching for amo to fight a designer I work with who INSISTS ON USING ONLY UPPERCASE IN ALL SITE MOCKS and while I certainly recall my first year typography class apparently not everyone does. Get with it folks, upper case should never be used alone!
